The Team Files app needs access to an external URL to work correctly. This is essential to enable the Microsoft 365 Web apps, allowing you to preview and edit documents in Confluence with the Team Files app. If your server and/or your Confluence instance are configured to have limited access to external URLs, you’ll need to add the Team Files URL to the whitelist.
Add to your firewall’s whitelist
To add the Team Files URL to the whitelist:
Open your server’s management page;
Go to the firewall configuration;
Add
https://confluence.teamfiles.app
to the whitelist.
Add to Confluence’s whitelist
To add Team Files URL to the whitelist:
Open the “Administration” menu (cogwheel icon on the top right corner);
Select “General Configuration”;
Click “Whitelist” from the sidebar (in the Users & Security section);
Enter the URL
https://confluence.teamfiles.app
in the Expression field;Choose “Domain Name” in the Type of expression dropdown;
Choose Add.
The required URL appears in the whitelist.
